Plessy V. Ferguson
Background
Louisiana passed a law making two seperate railways, one for blacks the other for whites. A man named Homer Plessy, he was
seven-eights white. So when he sat in the whites only railway he was asked to go
to the blacks only railway, he then refused and was arrested.
Constitutional Question
The question is this racial segregation law go against the 14th amendment? because it seems to violate the equal protection clause. So should this lousiana law be deemed unconctitutional? because it goes against the highset law in the land.

In the the justices voted in favor of the Louisiana segregation law. They said as long as its equal its ok. That is where the pharse "seperate, but Equal" comes in. You are allowed to seperate blacks and whites as long as it is equal.
